About the Art
This painting, Out of Her Dream, is a 12×16 acrylic that I refuse to sell, as it’s of my daughter and I fell in love with it. I’m so happy to have captured this moment of her just playing in the kiddie pool on one of those scorching summer days where everything has this weird, polaroid haze to it that makes way to punchy colors and golden hues. She loves the water just as I did as a kid, and I feel this portrait captured her sense of wonder. And yes, it is titled Out of Her Dream in reference to Oklahoma, also in that I used a deep orange underpainting that reminded my older sister of the skies in that scene.
